Wib Henkel - We Will Remember...

We lost a good friend and important part of our museum community when Wib Henkel passed away recently. Wib always had a twinkle in his eye and a great laugh. He always was able to find the best in people. We are sad but fortunate that he lead a long and productive life and was able to share some of his life with us.
During World War II, Wib was in the U.S. Army for three years and eight months, serving overseas two years and three months with "C" Battery of the 141st Field Artillery in communications. He served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He earned six campaign stars (one arrowhead for the invasion of Southern France) and the French Order of Saint Barbara.
Thank you, Wib, for the gift of your friendship.
